Rider Profile : Dan Bewley

DAN BEWLEY

Age : 17

Hometown : Cumbria, UK

2017 Starting Average: 3.90

After spending the 2016 campaign with local rivals Edinburgh Monarchs, Dan Bewley has joined the Tigers for the 2017 campaign. Dan's season in 2016 was brought to a sudden end after suffering a crash at Newcastle before the Monarchs play off campaign. His 3.90 average is a bargain for the Tigers as he finished off his 2016 season scoring double figures at most tracks, including Glasgow where he scored 13 points against the Tigers whilst guesting for 2016 league winners Somerset Rebels, leading the Rebels to winning that meeting. He will be very exciting to watch during the 2017 campaign with his no fear attitude and also his ability to pass with ease.

Rider Profile : Jack Smith

Jack Smith
Age : 17

Hometown : UK

2017 Starting Average: 2.00

Jack will be the Tigers compulsory NL No.7 in the 2017 campaign after new rules set out at the 2015 Speedway AGM stated that every team in the Championship had to have a British number 7 who hadn't previously gained an average over 3.00 at Championship level. In the 2016 season this caused controversy as many riders struggled to gain this 3.00 average or increase it so at the AGM in the 2016 off season the average which riders could come in on was 2.00. Glasgow's choice for the 2017 campaign will be youngster Jack Smith, only after having spent one season at National League level. He is the son of former British Champion and GB Star Andy Smith so will look to follow in his fathers footsteps. Jack will be a very hot prospect for the tigers 2017 campaign and will look to impress the fans and increase his 2.00 average. In addition to this Jack also helped bring the Birmingham Brummies to success in the 2016 season, and has signed for the Tigers as a full asset.
